Fireworks in the Green Zone...

Its 1530 and we are under lockdown. We had a very quiet morning. Atleast I was able to have a good sleep. After about 10 I woke up and was trying to catch the latest news, when Mashhadani announced that they will be meeting today at 1500. He said it over the friggin news!!! Uhoh I thought to myself, we are gonna have a party today. Sure enough less than 45 minutes ago and the fireworks started.

Talk about opsec. How the hell can this guy say something like that on national TV!!!I cannot believe the idiocy. The last 2 rockets were extremely loud I actually heard them fly over even though Im sitting in my room. Not sure where they landed though.
I had my coke can (needed my daily caffeine) on the side table then all of a sudden VOOOOOOOOOOOBOOOOOOOOOM. I dropped the coke all over the darn floor cuz I was reaching for my cig pack!!! Ughhhhhh...

A coworker of mine was out for a few seconds after the all clear to get her laundry when the last fireworks started. She called me freaking out. She too heard them fly over, while outside. I dont think there will be any nerves left soon. Thats it for now. I was planning to take a shower but ummm I doubt I will do that today. Dont wanna be seen naked, thanks but no thanks...Id rather be in bed smoking a cig while the fireworks start again. Fireworks in the Green Zone...

Because you show your discontent Others who have it worse then you have a connection. Your dirty little protest will strengthen the overall unity of the people. I guess you already kinda know this. I guess that's why I read your blog. Meddlers countermine our intelligence while dissolving solidarity. Really they underestimate themselves and the people around them. You're a blessing in smoky disguise. The children have rockets, little fuckers... and they understand basic calculation. What could they possibly learn from you...Maybe your children should be moving into the next phase of healing. A breathing exercise? Then Emotions are Vomitus? Corpulent dismembering of solid self. The people WERE tempered? Who are we really teaching? They need God. A critical under estimation of swift succession. They should be healed...exhausted rather. Judge the torment of the handicap. Imagined brace, Misery's Darfur, Black Arabia. Call Stephen King. You want a book finished? Prepare to walk Iraq. Wouldn't you have me walk? Fuck your meddling insults in husbandry lost. The Snow can write the Books. So can the Plagues. Reworking insults for months. The formula proving existence compound the abstracts. War is the Earth. Distance agrees.

Hi NIW,
I guess you'll keep having the fireworks for some time so better take good care. I strongly agree with you comment on why would Al Mashhadani would mention the timing of the meeting! Why not meet first and then tell the people of what you have done (if any!). I don't think ordinary Iraqis would benefit from this piece of info neither I believe meetings will help them by any way shape or form. I was in Iraq during the Iran war and also during the invasion of Kuwait and the consequences of that including a few years of the economic sanctions. There are a couple of things that I have learned the hard way and these are; a) it is amazing how much or how far a human being can take in terms of stress, pain or danger as long it is gradual and as long as you're not alone. If, God forbid, these attacks carry on for some time, you'll start seeing people's response become less frantic or at least the level of danger that gets them to freak out is more elevated. It's kind of sense of fatalism that builds in your mind with time and experience although for some people that is just not true. The only difference from my experience is that I and people around me at the time didn't have another option. You do have the option and I won't tell you when it's time to pack up and go because you'll know that better than anyone else. Unfortunately, in my opinion and I can feel that from your recent posts, the cause that you came for to Iraq is quickly diminishing. b) People won't realize the size and consequences of war until it hits close to home (Gog forbid, again) no matter how much you or anybody try or read about it. It's like you feel numb until you see somebody you know first hand suffer then you realize how big the effect on you and others can be and it's sometimes shockingly painful. This may not be addressed to you cause you have had many of your co-workers suffer over time but it’s more to the benefit of other friends/readers. Anyway, enough drama here. I guess what I wanted to say here is we sometimes get carried away with our sense of duty but we should always keep our eye on the ultimate goal that we came for and whether or not things are going that way. I feel that you are getting very close to the point where you should pack up and go if you have not already passed that by some people's standards. This is my two cents worth of experience and I hope it would serve the right purpose. Take very good care NIW.

Wow, I think one of the people posting comments on your blog might consider seeking Mental Health Professionals.
Keep your head down, put the metal back in your jacket. Or you might want to check this armor vest out, it is better than the supplied ones, who come from the lowest bidder:

I advise using a dictionary. I would also like an explanation involving your threatening posture on this blog.

Tired of trying to read NIW's blog with that lovely but annoying picture obscuring the text? Here's how to overcome this unfortunate design choice.

Open the hosts file on you computer and add the following line: "127.0.0.1 i5.photobucket.com"

Then in your internet options, add the following site to your restricted list: "http://i5.photobucket.com"

Lastly, erase your temporary internet files and reopen your browser and go to NIW's blog.

Viola, an easy to read blog page.
