Invisible Tranquility...

Just a few hours left and hopefully, history will be made. Although many people said they don’t really care who the next president of the US is going to be, and I was one of them, NOW they should. I have read so many articles, watched too many shows, and although Im one of those pessimists who think neither will really make a difference, at the end of the day I do want Obama to win for the explanations I have given in previous posts. So Best of luck to you Mr Obama. I know many Iraqis share my views.

As for those who still think and believe in the red, then Im sorry to say, that even though red is the colour of fire, the colour of vibrancy, hell I even painted my own study room red, all it actually symbolizes in reality is BLOOD. So enough red. We have had enough of BLOOD. And lets give a chance to the blue. Yeah I like blue. It symbolizes tranquility. It symbolizes, PEACE.

Like with any issue, even as a family, my family, there are different opinions, different outlooks. If I look at it from a statistic point of view, all of us females are with Obama. And that’s a fact that I have just realized while writing this post. As for the males in the family, majority are with McCain. Strange isn’t it? I guess its because us women think more with our emotions. And emotions kinda takes precedence right now.

Wonder what will it be? Red for more BLOOD and delusional Dreams? or Blue for TRANQUILITY? Invisible Tranquility…

According to a World poll, the World would vote for Obama. I think the World would like to see some intelligence in the White house for a change. And the delusion that Sarah Palin, might even be remotely qualified for V.P. is comical. I remember a newspaper headline after Mr.Bush was re-elected in 2004, it went, "how can 58 million people be so stupid?". Hopefully those 58 million will think this time, and look at the massive debt the U.S. has due to Republican fiscal ideology, not to mention the other comedy shows they have put on. It seems fear has gripped the sleep giant when it woke up, and has been sleepless since.

Neurotica,
I agree with you. Most of the females I know are leaning towards Obama. Speaking of which, they just anounced the death of his grandmother. I surely hope the Mccain campaing issues a statement of condolences out of courtesy.

No wonder your men don't trust their females. Your malefolk are right, as usual.

Neurotica, I have been following closely the American politics for the past few years and this yearʼs elections is included. I have to say that my heart goes with Obama but I know for a fact that when it comes to dealing with the Iraqi crisis and the Middle East region in general, Obama and McCain are both the same even if, on the surface, things look very different. Why? Because American policies are not drawn by these guys. The president and his team may seem to be running the show but they really arenʼt more than the pilot of a commercial plane when it is on "auto pilot mode". They only can play around with some trivial issues that the real owners of America couldnʼt care less about. These guys represent corporate America whom are the ones whom are pulling the strings behind the scenes. This may seem to be a typical conspiracy theorist statement but believe me it is not. Whom do you think is paying for the presidential campaigns? Just examine the current financial crisis and ask why the US economy got to where it is now without anybody taking notice? does that make sense? and the ironic thing, ordinary Americans are now going to pay thier tax dollars to those blood suckers at wall street so they can survive their own screw ups. Do you know that the Federal Reserve in the US prints money out of thin air (like Saddam used to do) and then lends the printed money to the US government and then charges the government/tax payers interest on this created/printed money, how do you like that? if you don't believe this, just check! and let's not forget that both Obama and McCain blessed the bail-out, hands down! it is an interesting world Neurotica!

Well, the men in my family say that should Obama win he will be assasinated. Does anyone agree?

WH, as I said, none will really make a difference, but to me, I think its time to change a few ideologies. I cant stand the lies the republicans tried to convince its people on about Iraq. Like that infamous moment when McCain went in Iraq and went to the shopping district and proclaimed it to be the safest area when infact he had body guards and had blocked the area off. Its that kind of mentality, the lies that I just cant stand. But then again, with politics you HAVE to lie

Lol Madtom, altho I dont agree with you, I still am glad you finally commented. Wow, its been ages!

Free Spirit, I knooooooooooow, how sad is that. I was reading about it this morning. Poor woman.

Leo, I know all about the financial crisis, and yes I agree with you 100%. It kinda reminds me of what goes on in the reconstruction program. I give you a simple example. One Government lead, air force, refused profusely to terminate contracts pertaining to the failed Parsons projects. The project Managers made a study and gave him all the facts, but no, he wouldnt listen. Mind you Parsons was a cost plus. And they kept delaying adn delaying ofcourse in the process taking more and more money. When the govt finally decided to terminate which was about one year after the project managers telling them to, they had squeezed millions of tax payers money. And at the end, the AF guy pointed at the Project managers and blamed THEM for lack of knowledge and the reason behind the failure of the prog!!!!See what I mean? So yeah I know the mentality really well...

Is Obama is assassinated, you will see the U.S. burn down, remember the L.A. riots?

November 4, 2008 at 3:03 PM

Neurotica, it's funny that you mention Parsons! back in 2004 whilst I was in Dubai, I was approached by Parsons to go to Iraq and work as a PM on the S&J project. I have to say that the position was tempting so was the pay but after serious consideration of the consequences on my family (parents still live in Baghdad, heard terrible stories back then of Iraqis that have had members of their family members killed because they were "collaborators") which did not leave me a lot of options so I decided to decline. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like? Cheers

Solo, cant wait to know the results. Im planning to sit and wait, will have loads of coffee tonight, lol

Anon, seriously, what happens if god forbid he does get killed? actually I dont even wanna think about it

LEO, Wow, had you come, we woulda probably been enemies, lol. OMG the s&j prog was the worst. I dont even know where to begin. Maybe if you give me an email I can tell you all about it!!!! I know it bit by bit :) Just like all the other programs

November 4, 2008 at 9:46 PM

You are right NIW, there has never been a turnout like today for voting. I live in the Southern US, not in one of the big cities and everywhere I go today there is gridlock with people waiting in lines to get to the polls. I just hope it's because Americans are sick of shady politics and voting for Obama. GO OBAMA 08!!!!

Obtaining masculinity as an African American is difficult in America is difficult. He grew up in the craziest world. That Barrack guy has to be the craziest black guy on the planet. The potential for that man to step in and assassinate Himself is above average.

I'll go vote for Obama in a couple of hours. I have been an Obama support since I heard him speak in Santa Barbara over a year ago. The emotions over this election are high; we have had several of our Obama signs stolen and wearing my Obama shirts has elicited some pretty nasty comments over the past year.

I had been fairly conservative in my politics, but Bush’s invasion of Iraq may be the worst thing a US President has ever done. Not only for Americans, but also for the Iraqis. I still have no idea how to justify the invasion, I’m completely embarrassed. Then I hear McCain talk about winning in Iraq. I’m not sure what he is talking about. I’m not sure who the enemy is and how you “win” in Iraq.

I have a close friend who is staunchly Republican; her father was a cabinet member for a past President. She has told me that I’m naive and don’t not understand how our country and the world works. But as far as I can tell is Bush lied and now many people are dead and many more are suffering. Even a young inexperienced man can do better than Bush.

I'm on a glorious high. It brings tears to my eyes to think about his win. Great things are possible. Anything is possible. What a wonderful thing to be reminded of. I'm so proud of our country. I'm so proud of him.

In a time of such uncertainty to have this weight lifted and to feel such relief... it is a very welcome feeling. I know there is hard work to be done. And I hope that he remembers to call upon us to help him. Hope is important. Hope is everything. I thank God for his victory.

I haven't felt such a sense of unity within this country since the days after the September 11th attacks. When everyone in the country grieved as a nation and leaned on one another. We looked to the future as one. What a miracle to have the feeling return without the shared tragedy. Hope...being open to change. Thank god such things still exist. I pray that my children and grandchildren will live in a world with such enduring hope for the future.

Yes we can to justice and equality. Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity. Yes we can heal this nation. Yes we can repair this world. Yes we can.

"I saw the lines upon lines waiting to cast their vote."

I pray for the day we will see such lines in places like Cuba, Iraq, Egypt, UAE, China, Russia (one day they will have a real one) and everywhere else.

If it was easy, or the natural way of things, you would be right. But no where in History has such a line been even remotely possible without the sweat blood and tears of man.

It's a bit self hating to see such a line and cheer, knowing you will never have the pleasure to wait in one for yourself, don't you think?

I just remembered, your a British citizens, so you can strike my last comment and put it down to momentary insanity! But you can still formulate the question in general terms about peoples world wide?
