Fifteen years ago, I called myself the neurotic Iraqi wife. This was my profile: A confession, I have finally joined the neurotic wife club!!!Is there such a thing? This blog is about me being an Iraqi wife whose husband chose to rebuild his country over building his new life with his new wife, ME!!! Fast forward, and today we are no longer married. But we are co parents to two beautiful kids. Am I still neurotic? Maybe, maybe not. I guess you will just have to find out :)
I am an Iraqi woman who absolutely adores her HUBBY, but HUBBY is too busy rebuilding the country.

Ever think of writing a book:
Neurotic Wife does the Green Zone
There and back again.
Madtom stole my idea. Writing a book is a very good idea.
I think you could write a great book! But, if you want to talk about your thoughts right now, try Googling "Iraq reconstruction 2006", and check out the conferences, etc. It sounds like they just had a good one in May and they're planning another one in a few months. Maybe check with USAID.
"While Iraqi speakers at the ICT Alliance were candid about the daily challenges they face, this was neither the emphasis of the conference, nor the focus. Instead, they shared the many ways in which they have overcome the obstacles. The owner of a Baghdad based IT firm formatted his talk as “a day in my life”, and with strong conviction and a good sense of humor, shared his daily struggles; which included power outages, unpredictable shipments and temperamental generators. Yet his emphasis was on what he manages to achieve, not what stands in his way. "
"A US corporate manager exclaimed that of all the “Rebuild Iraq” events over the past three years, the USAID ICT Alliance conference was the single best he attended. The vice president of an Iraqi IT company in turn explained that an event like the ICT Alliance is “winning the peace one mind at a time”.
"In addition, planning has already started for the agreed upon follow up meeting, to take place in Iraq in a few months’ time. "

I just heard about you on CNN; they quoted the post in which you weighed in on Bush's surprise visit.
It seems that you don't need to do too much more to get your message out - please keep blogging and sharing your opinions.
Thanks for writing.
Madtom and Fayrouz...You guys must be kidding me right???I dont think I can ever write a book...OMG, just thinking abt it gives me the creeps...I cant manage a blog let alone a book...I dont even have a specific writing style...Would love to, but wouldnt even know where to start...
Anon, Yeah I think I will google and see what comes up...Thats a good idea...But now that I think about it, I was nevr a good public speaker...Yes I have a sharp tongue but I tend to get shy infront of large numbers..But I still will try and see of any conferences taking place... would love to attend and make my voice heard...
David, thanx for bringing that to my attention...unfortunately I missed it...I wish they would mention more about the struggles of the ordinary Iraqis...Not only mention but try to do something abt it as well...
I always look forward to reading your blog. You write exactly how you feel and your style is enjoyable and refreshing.
And I agree the if you connected with a good publisher, you could have one heck of a book.
