Iraqi Boots on The Ground...

Conspiracy theories and what people really think. When things got out of hand with the looting everyone blamed the Americans. And rightly so. It happened right under their noses and all they did was stand there and watch, and in some cases encourage the looters. When things got real bad and the Askari shrines got bombed in Feb 2006, everyone blamed the Americans, and I disagreed. When things started going from bad to worse with the security situation, again it was the Americans that were blamed. I kinda disagree there. Truth to be told, they tried by increasing the number of troops. And surprisingly everyone saw the effects albeit slowly. Yes the killings, bombings didn’t stop, but they were at very low levels.

But when Maliki goes to Iran and makes secret wheeling and dealing, and people still say it’s the American doing, now THAT is just WRONG!!! I hate conspiracy theories. The points of conflict between Maliki and the US over the bases, is ridiculous. The only reason Maliki is being difficult over the negotiations is NOT because of his undying love to his country nor his people. I mean they might as well call all “Eyerakis” “Eyeranians”, cuz that’s what we are apparently, by default.

Only reason Maliki is saying NO is because he knows that these bases will one day be used against his beloved “Land of the Mullahs”. That’s the ONLY reason. Apart from that, he wouldn’t even have batted an eyelid. But no, he cant upset Khamenei, can he now? He uses the excuse “US are compromising Iraq’s sovereignty”. Umm, come again??? Im sorry but what Sovereignty is this, if you are allowing your great Bosses in Mullah Land dictate to you what should and shouldn’t be done??? And who should and shouldn’t be here???

The Mullah land across the border is financing, training and encouraging the mass Iraqi Killings!!! They, together with the Land of the Short Dishdashes (aka Wahhabies) are the main culprits for all the blood running through this Mesopotamian Land!!! They are the ones blowing people up. They are the ones using animals, babies, women, young men and handicapped people to blow themselves up and kill hundreds of innocent Iraqis!!!

Why doesn’t Maliki bash the Mullahs for their murderous acts???? The Basrah offensive, the Mosul offensive, all this was a game??? A deal??? . Hand me a bucket so I can throw up. Just to know the livelihood of 24 million Iraqis are in this guy’s hands is sickening!!!

And don’t you dare tell me he is trying!!! He is trying Jack!!! So you know what, I have made my mind up. Although Im against the US troops withdrawing so fast because of the blood baths that will follow, BUT, after listening to that guy, after watching Maliki bowing to the Land of the Mullahs, I believe Obama should win and withdraw every single boot on the ground. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Then lets see what Maliki is capabale of...

Yes, we deserve whats happening to us. We deserve everything. Majority voted for this Govt, and we have to suffer. I hope that everyone learnt his/her lesson. I definitely learnt mine alright. I choose not to vote in the next elections. Yup, I will just Veto it. Whats the point??? The Mullahs will still win!!! So why bother.

I spoke to an Iraqi who lives in Baghdad il Jideeda. I asked about the security situation, he said let me give you an example; Last year this time, when I used to leave work at about 5ish, the streets were empty but instead filled with fake checkpoints manned by Mahdi Militias. I would always say the Shahada cause I never knew if Id come out alive. Then the militias were replaced with the Iraqi Police, and theyre more sadistic. They wouldn’t let you go if they don’t like the way you look. They were corrupt and will only release you if you pay them money.
Come today, and when I leave, the checkpoints are replaced with the Iraqi Army. They are very nice, and their loyalty, their loyalty does not lie within any faction. Their loyalty lies with the Army and their country. He continued, Neurotica, the streets are so filled with people sitting in gahwas, and enjoying themselves. Places are still open till late. Last year, we would hear a needle drop.

Then I asked him what if the US leave now? He said, let them leave. Yes there will be a blood bath, but in all cases, for things to become better, a blood bath is inevitable. He said Im not with the troops leaving, but, if that’s the only solution, then let it be. Our Army are better equipped and trained. They are ready to defend us.

I was shocked at this news. I never knew that the army was ready (I still have my doubts). But this is coming from a guy who lives and breathes the real Baghdad. So I will believe him. He also mentioned that there are special units and special forces specifically trained for taking out the Militias and Al Qaeda components. Neurotica, we are ready. Ready to fight for our country.

So for all of you out there, no matter how bad things will be if the US troops leave, they gotta leave. Everyone wants Iraqis. Iraqi Boots on The Ground…

Democracy doesn't always insure that the country gets the brightest light bulb, as the World has seen in the West. A U.S. president once said of Democracy that it can not be bestowed it has to be fought for. It can not be handed to a people, because someone or a group is always wanting to control people. But, control can be achieved without force, just look at the Western Democracies now.
I am not sure if you were aware that after the Katrina Hurricane, "Blackwater" patrolled New Orleans. You ever think what the States will do with a private army if they leave Iraq?

"When things started going from bad to worse with the security situation, again it was the Americans that were blamed. I kinda disagree there."

but wasn't the american decision of disband the iraqi army the primary cause of this degradation?

Anon, I didnt get your question...

Tib, yes, Initially it was, but then why didnt the Iraqi Govt, reinstate those posts again???Why did they allow the intruders to come into the country? Im not saying it wasnt Bremer's fault nor the so called de-baathification process...But the govt of Iraq should have taken bold steps and put back the army on the border again,a nd not alienate every single person that was in the army during Saddam's time!!!

I take it by your comment about the Mullahs, that you would like separation of Mullah and State. The ideology of "My Religion" is the right one, has always overridden the search of men to renew the connection lost with God in the Garden. It is always easier to follow ones religion, since it is their own rules they follow.
I can understand the disbanding of the Iraqi Army, were they not the ones who supported and backed the leaders that caused death to Iraqi's? I don't think any sane person can respect the simpletons who prop up a corrupt government or religious entities.
The 'School yard mentality' doesn't stop when one leaves there, it just festers in an different enviroment. The bullies always relied on the weak to surround themselves with. That way the group gave credence that they were strong, there is not difference with the Mullahs. If the Mullahs were selling a product everyone wanted there would be no strife with them.

The American Presidential Election linked with Iraqi combat enthusiasm doesn't change the fact that conditioning trickles out of an oil drum. Yes I remember how "Gung Ho" the Iraqi Military was back in the Hay Days of Cold War fear. Regardless instinctual narcissism maintaining a quick fix trade embargo can detail out a dim litigant across all of the Arab speaking world and so on. Even the Robber Barons have boundaries within the masses sensory elements.

(If Aughra doesn't let go of Fizzgig then the Desert is lost in the Desert. Narcissism? Giving up as to keep all your eggs in one basket for an adrenaline rush? DO cocaine.)

I'm happy to hear things are improving. You know the next elections are not far, and Iraqis will have a chance to vote for more capable leadership in 2009. I hope it happens, but probably it will not happen if Maliki, Hakim, and Sadr are perceived as being good guys. Iraqis have to decide for themselves that they want better leaders.

Carry on fighting among yourselves, gives the spin doctors some sleep.

June 16, 2008 at 3:55 AM

WH, there has to be a separation between state and religeon or else we will never get out of this. Yes we all need a higher power to believe in or to guide us through, but these people are using religeon in the wrong way.

IM, my sentiments exactly, thats why Im not gonna vote. No matter what, its gonna be the same people winning...

Anon, its the spin doctors that can be blamed for alot of whats happening right now as well...They lie through their teeth!!!

Don't give up voting!

June 16, 2008 at 7:41 AM

Hi NIW, I wouldn't base my conclusions on one guy's opinion about the security situation in Baghdad. We know that people tend to be emotional sometimes in times of hardship.

I don't agree that US army should pull out yet. The Iraqi army is not ready and won't be for some time and I would not want to see the Americans walking out on Iraq after all the mess that they have created so far in Iraq. Colin Powell Said "If you break it, you own it" and I think that's fair and square. As for voting, I did not vote in the last elections as I knew it is all going to be based on sects rather than competence which I find absurd.

As for Al Maliki, he has hit a new low during the last visit to Iran (let alone taking off his tie while visiting Khamenei and also visiting Al Khomeini's grave) and he's has proved yet again that he is a disgrace to Iraq and honest Iraqis.

June 16, 2008 at 9:55 AM

yes, i think i'll never understand this war. bush says that iran is killing US soldiers but allow iran's president to visit iraq. then the iraqi president, bush's ally, go in a courtesy visit to iran. for me it's just crazy as hitler visiting US while the american soldiers die in the europe battefields.
bush is a lucky guy to have such a loyal army. in some countries he would certainly be executed by his generals.

June 16, 2008 at 5:23 PM

"my sentiments exactly, thats why Im not gonna vote. No matter what, its gonna be the same people winning..."

I think that would be a mistake. I think you should vote, but more importantly, you should talk to your fellow Iraqis and try to convince them to vote for politicians (not clerics) who will lead Iraq to greatness.

As an Iraqi American, this topic pains me. I'm afraid I have to agree with what you're saying. The two most murderous factions that have taken most lives in my family have been the Mahdi militias and Al-Qaeda. We have lost two handfuls to American's as well. Our situation is not unique- nonetheless it's painful.

Thank you for having the breath to keep speaking, this topic renders me breathlessly grieving.

I read that Iran was hanging Adulterers from Crane Shafts in an effort to rebuild the country before anyone demolishes it again. Sounds gross and not as believable as a suffering lower class community prepares the clean cut for Mercy work from the nice side of the mental tracks. You know how domestic violence can build the native utopia and cull without the killing. Or how scientific enumeration isn't much of a gamble. Sometimes a storm is much more welcome then a crane's actual function of building addictive pathways for delusion and rebuttal. These people Bobbing to and fro with the constructive breezeway of corporate containment years after the cranes are gone. Right now those uninhabited infrastructures are trustworthy. Soon they'll attempt evolution based on the mental competency of those executed and hanging. Olaf points up and says "look everybody, Iranians". Then he moves his Company in and maintains a frequency of delusion for all the unwary Storm watchers. Truth is the shelter isn't even necessary and everyone is telling lies in the name of Narcissism. When everyone co-habitates under the presumption of fear and "enemy" the Adulterer wins. We end up evolving the dead bags of shit we for the most part already inexcusably killed without remorse. Why do I flush? Feces are now a Charade? Shit lied to me for the view out the toilet.

Thanks for your article Okhti Iraqi wife. (Do I have permission to call you Ukhti? Or do I have to call you Amma ;-) ;-) ;-) Ha Ha Ha. No, you are too young to call Amma. But, seriously, I hope it is okay to call you Okhti.)

The Iraqi army is getting much better. This is true. The Iraqi police are suppose to replace the Iraqi army inside Baghdad next February. (I think April is more realistic.)

Are you interested in the Iraqi army? If so, feel free to ask questions on Mojo's blog.

For some basic info, please see:

And please vote in Iraqi elections. I hope all Iraqis vote for capable leaders who will serve Iraq.

Hello neurotic wife.

in a narrower perspective i understand your frustration. and you are right about that. iraqis killing iraqis, and for what? maybe, you are right to give up hope.

but try yo see the bigger picture. who really creates the chaos? who stirs things up? who disturbes all the social equations, takes away the power but fails to provide it back which causes all this bloodshed?

June 17, 2008 at 2:47 PM

Thnx for your insite. It is old fashioned but my wife and I have been married for 33 years. I still adore her. Our prayers are with you, your husband, and your new marriage. They are also with the Iraqi people, and, yes, the Americans that are there.

June 17, 2008 at 10:13 PM

michemily, what use will my voice make?

Leo, I agree with you, but honestly the troop withdrawal is not based on one indvidual, many people said it. And yes I agree they should fix what they broke, but cmon, the Iraqi govt is NOT helping!!!It is a useless govt with an agenda that definitely does not include the welfare of the Iraqis!!!

Tib,yes it is crazy!!!Thats why I have lost belief in the govt, some guy said its all American doing. Hmmm, so did Bush dictate to Maliki to go to Iran???I dont think so. I heard there was a deal between them regarding fuel. Iran is transporting fuel to Iraq, not sure what Iraq will be giving up? Hmmm, more Iraqi blood maybe?

Olaff, I forgot to ask you, are un Dubai or AD????

Lady Nomadica, its frustrating to sit and watch without being able to do anything...I hate talking about politics, but people need to know whats going on...

Anand, from what I hear Iraqi police are corrupt and have no loyalty. I hope they wont take over!! That will just add more disaster to the situation

Superhero, Who? I know the answer, but would like to know yours...

Tedandrosy, thanks for your kind words...

June 18, 2008 at 8:49 AM

IM, do you really think if I talk they will listen??? You know better than I do, what sort of voting campaigns, people like Moqtada have. They give out money to people so they vote for them. Or maybe threaten people etc...Lol, I doubt me saying anything will make a difference. But as I said, maybe people have learnt their lesson...Lets just HOPE

I am an Army Wife - and I would LOVE to have my husband home from your country. And trust me - many the American Soldiers - missing birthdays, there kids first day of school, anniversaries, etc - they want to be home as well. The American military is having a tough time getting the Iraqi Army to "man-up" - as we say. In meetings the Iraqi army says "why should we care about this country - that is what you (the American soldiers) are here for".

June 24, 2008 at 3:37 AM

Anon,

Thank you for finally putting this situation into perspective. Most of the post on this blog are anti-american. One writer also suggest that the Iraqis kill all Americans they can and then denies that Iraq ever wanted the troops in their "beloved" country anyway. So I say to hell with Iraq, bring our troops home and let the all mighty Iraqis fight their own war. If you read NIW's earlier post she was all for the Americans, now she has become anti-america as well. Also if you read NIW's words carefully she is very westernized from the way she chooses her words, she uses alot of Western slang, seems to prefer Western Clothes (I'm positive that Betty Boop is an american cartoon character) Hubby loves Coco-Cola, also very American!! But as all Middle Eastern Countries. lets blame the Americans. I also know people serving in Iraq and believe me they all want to get out of that hellhole! Please vote for Obama in November, he is the only with the courage to say he immediately start pulling American troops out of Iraq and then the world will see what cowards they are. Saddam is gone (oh and how grateful they were for that) but now they claim we just want their resources, Hellloooo we live in America, we don't need your resources we have plenty, without having to beg our government for everyday imminities.

June 26, 2008 at 6:29 PM

If you think Iraq and Iran are not going to be friends or have dealings you are very naive.
For 8 years the two countries fought each other and what good did that do?
Judging by your post, it seems as if you want the Americans to attack Iran from Iraq.
We have too many cultural and religious similarities to be enemies.
And I find it hilarious that you complain about sovereignty when Maliki goes to Iran, but when you have foreign soldiers walking your streets and as you yourself said sexually harassing women and men, you don't call them occupiers do you?
Hypocrisy at its best.

June 28, 2008 at 4:31 AM

Do your friends think that the Iraqi National Police have improved? They have been rebuilt, retrained, and re-greened from the ground up.

The Italians are in charge of phase 3 Quick Look training. Are the Italians doing a good job with the INP?

The current plan calls for the INP to take over internal security from the Iraqi army across Iraq in a year and a half.
