Fatal Deadly Lava...
The dust found its way to my nostrils keeping me awake all night. I probably had four hours of sleep when I found myself waking up at 830 in the morning. So much for sleeping in. After awhile I switched the TV on and I honestly wish I didn’t. First thing I saw was the Al Sharqiya channel showing us pictures of the bombings that took place in the 2 markets. I had vowed that I wouldn’t watch any news for the sake of my mental health, but I am Iraqi afterall, and I cant just ignore whats going on around me.
The news said that at both bombings, 2 mentally disturbed women were the culprits. WOMEN people, WOMEN!!! That’s how bad things are here in Iraq. And we still have worthless people still disputing the Lancet report, asking whether its a true study? No its actually a fake one, done in really weird circumstances, they tell the world. No dont believe this report they argue. This report is all lies!!! If this report is all lies, then all those millions of Iraqis that got martyred and are still getting martyred everyday are but film characters in a sci fi movie, right? These deaths arent real right? Those kids who died today are plastic dolls whose tiny limbs happen to be scattered on the street right??? The majority of today’s victims were kids. Real kids!!!Kids whose parents wanted to take advantage of the weekend to entertain them. Entertain them instead of keeping them locked up between the walls of their cold, dark, lonely homes. But no, entertainment in Iraq is wishful thinking. For even the thought of it is a sin by itself.
The only people here that have the right to the word “entertainment” are Al Qaeda and the militias. Oh yes. They probably are sniggering right now at the sight of the scattered tiny limbs of those innocent children. Sniggering and laughing. I still cannot fathom how these people are called humans??? For they definitely have no humanity in their blood whatsoever. They are resorting to mentally disabled people to carry these cowardly acts. That’s how low they are. The lowest of the low. No words in my dictionary can describe these animals.
And just as I was chatting with HUBBY, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM, a large explosion took place very close to him. It was so close that even I heard it over the speakers. I guess its official now that the 6 month standoff of al Mahdi militia is over. They have started their demonic acts yet again. And our great government, our amazing nationalistic one and only government is busy disputing the colour of our flag and making numerous ads encouraging the people that left to come back because “your country is safe now”.
Noooooooooo. No the country isn’t safe. The country will never be safe if it has people like you in place. No the country will never be safe if it has faces like Hakeem, Muqtada and all the other cockroaches like Al Qaeda and the Wahabi’s etc surviving on Iraqis’ flesh and blood. You know what they remind me of? They remind me of Dracula. Dracula dressed in turbines and abbaya’s camouflaging the holy verses of our purest Quran. They tainted our religion with their vengeance to kill. They tainted our rivers with their thirst for our blood. February is Black History month here in the U.S. I think of the civil rights movement here and the KKK. These people call themselves Christians, yet kill for the sake of keeping the white race pure. While these killings and maimings happened on a much smaller scale than what's going on in Iraq, I still see the huge difference between normal, human Iraqis and the monsters that dwell in her boundaries. Americans tend to forget our own atrocities while pointing the finger at the middle east. We forget that this country has only been de-segregated for just over 50 years, yet have so far to go. It's easy to point our finger at the middle east and call all of them killers. Frustrating, to say the least!

If the numbers are so important to you, Neurotica, perhaps you can organize a fact finding survey to come up with a correct count. I have never seen anyone who isn't an anti-war activist quote any of the various studies. And if the truth doesn't matter, then why don't we all just acknowledge that there are 20 million Iraqis who have died, and another 20 million who are refugees? So what if it's not true, you seem to think it would make people feel better, so that's what we should do. I think the US should report a formal finding tomorrow that there is no such thing as Iraq any more because all Iraqis have been killed by the war. Then we can turn over the barren wasteland that used to be Iraq to Saudi Arabia, and bring the troops home.
I'm sorry if you think that's harsh, and I know you are upset, but I don't like being told I'm worse than Al Qaeda just because I think some of the reports have been fabricating their findings.
I'm interested in Double Agents. The existence of any argument proves unseen casualties. Actual death is an identifier stupid people need in order to prove a "Buggy" system actually exists. When ever I see "Hoods", I'm reminded of Secret "Closet Cell" Societies. Societies responsible for the incorporation of Black SLave workers in planned integration systems above regular white society. Don't give up on the hope for peace. It seems impossible now, but what we thought was impossible yesterday could be possible tomorrow. Your country once was so very beautiful. I had a chance to visit many years ago and I pray for the chance to visit again. I dream of the day to see Iraq at peace.
I don't know if a new American president will help, but it sure can't hurt. I liked Obama's statement that he not only wants to get us out of Iraq, but also wants to get us out of the mindset that got us into Iraq in the first place. Statements like those give me hope.

Melanie, I know that its not here vicious violence happens, but this is my country and I get so frustrated and angry that no one can fix things. Iraqi people lived thru hell for so many years, they deserve to have some peace, some time...
PC, Youre right Im mad. Im mad cuz there's no difference whether its one, or one million. People are still dying. And its worse that theyre using the Iraqi deaths as statistics for their own agenda. Hey a million people died, lets pull our troops. Horror could be much worse. And it's not the numbers, everyone knows that wars are ugly and people die. The ugly part about those reports is that they try and blame the US for all the death and destruction. "One million dead because of Americas war", when we all know that most of the death and the killing are not the result of the US. Today's bombing had nothing to do with the US. Not one US soldier was the target, they were not even close to the area, but the US effort is the casualty of the headline.
All your work, effort and sacrifice for the past 4 years can be canceled in an instant. Can you imagine, I know of no one that had fought harder than you. You even gave up you honeymoon when your husband left for Iraq one week after your marriage. All for what if we let the enemy propaganda machine take what enemy soldiers could not take on the ground. I know it's been hell Neurotica, but it could be worse. Imagine what Iraq would be with the enemy in control and no one there to oppose.
And for all those that want to argue that the US should never have invaded in the first place, well there is noting that can change the past. We are here now.
Politics aside, what a pleasure to talk to you again, too bad we don't have the blog all to ourselves anymore. I remember you used to make me laugh, and laugh with your neurotic behavior and your plots to lure HUBBY back. You were so innocent then. I can still remember the day you announced you were going to Iraq, I was horrified, I though for sure your going to be killed or get HUBBY killed, or wreck Iraq. The bigger the numbers, the harder it is to warp your mind around them and the more distant the deaths become. You were once involved in a project to honor the individuals who died in the US on 9/11/01. Where is the website for Iraqis to honor their dead? To show the lost humanity to the world? Where pictures, names, hobbies, loves and grieving families make these people so much more than a number?
And lets never forget, being dead is easy, the maimed and grieving have the difficult task that deserves all the empahty and compassion we can muster.
Their numbers exceed those who live/lived in Iraq.

I know what you mean, it has not been easy for any of us that follow closely. At times I have wanted to just disappear under some rock and forget the whole thing. Too much for anyone, even at the distance. I can not imagine what it;s like for you, our troops, or the people on the streets, who can't just turn off the computer and look the other way. unfortunately it's all to easy for the majority, they have nothing to lose, they don't even have to see much on the news, as it's all sterilized.
Of late there have been politician complaining about the lake of control over the internet, they don't like the fact that we post anything we want and that they can not control the news like they used too when there was just a few channels...
Hang in there, and don't let the war "change you" too much. I have no idea how you've managed to stay sane, not to mention HUBBY.
