This Forsaken Country...

Although Im still mourning for Abu Reesha's criminal death, I can see another figure that may still give us some hope. No, not his brother. Although his brother Ahmed succeeded him by the majority's request, I can foresee another leader. Ali Hatem Ali Suleiman. His mannerisms, his words, portrays yet another hero that we can set our hopes on.

Ive read several articles that implied Ali Hatem was a harsh critic of Abu Reesha, but Im not sure of the authenticity of these, since the minute it was known that Abu Reesha was killed, Ali Hatem, appeared on TV talking about revenge against the murderers. Thanx to my brother in law he pointed me to this video clip of Ali Hatem on Memri TV. You will see how eleoquent his words are and how straightforward his opinions are. I can feel the butterflies flicker yet again.

Yesterday, a day after the horrific events, I asked some of the Iraqi guys at work about their opinion to what happened. To my surprise, they were all in shock and very upset. Some pointed the fingers at the Government, others said it definitely has Al Qaeda's marks. Reason I was surprised to their reaction, was the fact that almost all of those guys are Shia's. It just goes to show you that as long as we get a good and honourable leader who has the "balls" to defend his people (unlike the current govt), no one gives a damn what his sect or ethnicity is. This sectarian division exists only in ignorant people, be it educated or not. Ignorant people who have nothing better to do than point the finger at the other group. They are narrow minded individuals who refuse to see the bigger picture.

Al Qaeda vowed for more attacks in this holy month. Goes to show you what kind of Islam they are portraying. They are by no means muslims. Infact, they know nothing of Islam and because of those criminal barbarians, Islam has been tainted. Although I must not wish death upon anyone, but I cant resist, and wish death to all those who are behind the extinction of my people. Especially Al Qaeda. Those bastards should go and clean their own countries before coming to us and killing the innocent civilians. May God's wrath fall upon them very soon. Very very soon.

As for now, Im gonna keep a close eye on Ali Hatem. We never know, maybe just maybe the hope we had in Abu Reesha gets rekindled with this young charismatic guy. I guess we will just have to wait and see. See what the future holds. What the future holds for this country. This Forsaken Country...

Hello Neurotica Luv , I must admit just like you these people you mention have never been heard of before but it may be the case that as you say they may fit the bill although if The AllAWi admin puts it´s self forth might that not be that you´l hava a secular broadminded person moving matters in the right direction not to keep on harping on the fundemental base of a hundred years ago except though there is something the fact that The region should by all rights shake off the axis of eviliranien thugs & move on in a steady progressive pace in the direction of the development free market enterprise area such as The EMIRATES SAUDI ARABIA JORDAN & secular like Turkey A mix perhaps Loads of love darling all the best www.bfbs.com walter@sweenmail.com your Olaff

It's not for us to wish death or even ill-will on anyone - that's exactly the problem with these fanatical groups. If you advocate thinking like they do, then they win.

Ali Hatem Ali Suleiman has certainly been very critical of the US military, but perhaps that's needed. In August he said "we're back to the same old story in Anbar. The Americans are handing out contracts and jobs to terrorists, bandits and gangsters":

NIW,

I am sorry to hear you lack confidence in Ahmed. It sounds like you don't believe he's "cut from the same cloth" as his brother, Abu Risha. Regardless, I think Ahmed deserves credit for being willing to try, knowing he's automatically on Al Qaeda's death list. At this point, I don't know if there's any one man who can fill Abu Risha's shoes. The best outcome from the tragedy of Abu Risha's death would be if strong ethical leaders from across Iraq and across the sects would unite together to carry on Abu Risha's work for the Iraqi people in his memory. It seems like it's easier for Iraqis to put aside their own agendas and unite together to fight for the vision of one who's been martyred in the service of his countrymen.

September 17, 2007 at 3:02 AM

I do agree that when iraqies see a personality that is working for the benifit of the iraqies, then we all be supporting without asking the sect or religion...and this is normal

September 17, 2007 at 10:17 AM

Please don't talk about Islam as your entire actions of betrayal and collaboration scream against the commands of the Qur'an. Also, don't spin this "Al-Qaida" crap as we all know the only people responsible for murdering close to 3 million Iraqis since the 1991 siege are the very bedfellows you work for and collaborate with.

Also, do you know why your Shia friends were sad for Abu Zift? Because he was one of you (a collaborator) hence the brotherhood of collaborators and criminals mourns for one of their own.

May Iraq be rid of the cancer of occupation and collaboration.

Olaff- "pack it in arguing this girlie"

C'mon olaff, your scaring away a potential future friend of mine! Jeesh! Anyway luvy mate, tell me, for clarity reasons, who and what do you include in this "evil of axisiran"?

September 18, 2007 at 2:44 AM

Hello Neurotica,
This Forsaken Country, Indeed. All the prayers in the world will not help. Good, honest, and yes, tough men who hold rational dreams of future prosperity should act and be supported even as the ignorant sectarian divisions reap and sow. The U.S. (my birth country) is guilty of crimes and atrocities against the Iraqi Nation. This is true and nothing can dtract from that. Yet, there comes a time when we must act according to principle. Al-Qaeda as it exists is the enemy not just of Iraq, Islam, the West, "infidel" Arab governments. It is an enemy which sustains iself on hate as opposed to hope. Bush is a despicable toad and I never voted for or supported His War. He is not the same as al Qaeda but close in his callousness toward death. That aside, I pray for you Neuro and always send my positive thoughts your way. Oh, and by the way. I am Christopher and not Chris. The Ranter. Salaam

September 18, 2007 at 9:40 AM

JULIE LUV ; THE REPLY There is no one to include other thaniran????!!!!!!

September 18, 2007 at 5:23 PM

Christopher SORRY TO DISSAPIONT YOU MATE BUT YOU FORGOT THE AXIS OF evil iran that has vowed to reap harm on the civilised globe & our English speaking nations first so perhaps you may ponder as to whom you attribute as first enemy it is not the rabble you mention but iran mate ??????!!!!!!

September 18, 2007 at 5:27 PM

Olaff- I agree with you. And you know what? We must be starting to click a little because your response was very clear to me. Maybe I'm just coming around.

Christopher- I think you're wrong. The U.S. is not guilty of crimes and atrocities. Saddam was. Again, he signed a contract (Gulf war, 1991 or so) that said we will stop protecting Kuwait all the way to Baghdad if you hand over the WMD or tell us what you did with them. Simple. He broke the contract. Ten years of jerking around Sept. 11 happened and the U.S. had to enforce the contract again because of the danger involved. Simple. All he had to do is say what he did with them. He used them so he had them at one point. Where'd they go?

If you're wrong, than what you said hurts our country and ultimately hurts Iraq.

You know olaff my husband and I travel to Europe once a year usually. We mostly go to Romania or Hungary (mission work) but since we are both 80% Irish and have relatives that live in da land o'Dingle we've thought of going there. And if we go there then we've got to Endgland don't we? Have you got the bar bombs under control?

I just looked up that song on You Tube and I'm very surprised that I've never heard it. (Of course I was 10 when it came out) I think the song was played in the UK more than the US. "The Man" loves it and wants to put it on his ipod so I'm sure I'm getting ready to re-live 1982 for a while. Thanks!
